On Thursday, July 16th, from 6 – 9 p.m. Jane Farrell will be in the Gallery demonstrating her process of creating unique monotype prints. Jane is our f0urth ‘Artist in Residence’ during this summer’s downtown Chelsea ‘Sounds and Sights’.

Jane’s work is colorful, expressive and compelling. Her process of painting in reverse on glass or another hard surface, and then laying paper on top and ‘pulling prints’ is not to be missed. Watching Jane paint is to experience magic!

Jane Farrell is an internationally recognized and award winning artist. She works in many mediums but her current passion for monotypes has lasted for the past several years and has won her several awards.

Farrell’s work is spontaneous, colorful, sometimes subdued, but always “counter-intuitive to staidness”. She has taught many classes and workshops throughout the region and in Canada and is a resident of Chelsea.

Jane is a member of the Ann Arbor Women Artists and the Chelsea Painters.
