Bill Darwin II was born in Germany and grew up in Ann Arbor, where he learned the fine art of stained glass beginning in 1973 from his grandfather, the late Roy Darwin. He also credits his uncle LeRoy Darwin of Grass Lake with his start and continued influence. Darwin’s work, created in his studio near Waterloo, Michigan, northwest of Chelsea, can be found all over the world. A passion for excellence is apparent in everything he does, from his art to restoring antique slot machines to semi-professional croquet. Bill’s love is Tiffany lampshades and he enjoys a reputation as one of today’s finest stained glass artisans.
