Artist: Sandy Knapp
As part of our ‘Artist in Residence’ program, Sandy Knapp will appear at the Gallery on June 25th from 6 – 9 p.m. to discuss her encaustic paintings.
Encaustic refers to the ancient art of painting with wax. Examples of encaustic painting date back to 800 BC., and are created by combining 100-200 layers of thinly applied wax. To create her vibrant works of art, Sandy uses paint brushes, colored beeswax resin and a heat gun.
Join us for an up-close look at Sandy’s work and more on her unique artistic process.
